Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the celebrated young Canadian conductor, will kick off the 2013/14 concert season at the Dortmund Concert Hall on September 19. Leading the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, of which he is also the principal conductor, the evening will feature Tschaikowsky's emotive Pathètique Symphony (No. 6). Nézet-Séguin, recognized as an ambassador of classical music for younger audiences, will deliver a momentous cultural event in NRW. In conjunction with these opening performances, he will also debut the season with the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Deutsche Grammophon will unveil the concert programs for these events: Tschaikowsky's "Pathètique" for Dortmund and "Hommage à Leopold Stokowski" for Philadelphia.
