A strong shared interest unites us. Roger Eno describes it as follows: "The pieces have a very impressionistic character and focus on sound quality and color." Brian and his brother Roger have explored new avenues in music production and performance. Brian works in the realm of innovative pop music, while Roger's works are ambient piano/synthesizer compositions reminiscent of Erik Satie. Their creative collaboration now manifests itself in "Mixing Colours"—a project that celebrates their 15-year partnership. The work contains 18 meditative pieces that reflect the slow, mutable nature of sound and time. The music creates soundscapes, similar to abstract works of art. The album is characterized by titles such as "Obsidian," "Deep Saffron," and "Wintergreen." Its release on Deutsche Grammophon in March 2020 was met with enthusiasm by critics and listeners alike. "Mixing Colours Expanded," the expanded version, includes six new compositions as well as "Pewter," which was previously only available as a Japanese bonus track. The atmospheric pieces bear names such as "Moss," "Violet," "Manganese," "Vermilion," "Marble," "Pewter," and "Malachite."
