Richard Rodgers, Victor Young, Billie Holiday … well, they didn't call it the Standards Trio for nothing, and when Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock (bass) and Jack DeJohnette (drums) brought their game-changing brand of acoustic jazz to Tokyo's Bunkamura Orchard Hall in 1996, it's no surprise to find the Trio's typically inventive takes on the Great American Songbook forming the heart of their set. Originally released to celebrate the Trio's 25th anniversary in 2008, this is a portrait of three musicians who never stopped striking sparks off each other, in a programme that includes Jarrett's own "Rider", "So Tender" and "Prism".
