The 1966 recording of the Missa Solemnis, conducted by Herbert von Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic and an outstanding ensemble of soloists—comprising Gundula Janowitz (soprano), Christa Ludwig (alto), Fritz Wunderlich (tenor), and Walter Berry (bass)—is now available. Recorded in the Jesus Christ Church in Berlin, the album has been completely remastered at the Emil Berliner Studios and is presented in superb 24-bit/192kHz sound quality on Blu-ray Audio. This important interpretation is accompanied by a comprehensive 20-page booklet in two languages, which includes a special essay by Gundula Janowitz recounting her experiences working with Karajan.

The recording was made in the Jesus Christ Church in Berlin and has been completely remastered at the Emil Berliner Studios.
