The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra will gather in Warsaw on February 25, 2025, to perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Founded as a cultural response to the Russian attack, the ensemble, conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson, will perform at the Teatr Wielki. Of particular note: the choral part of Schiller's "Ode to Joy" will be sung in Ukrainian. The orchestra, established in 2022, unites refugee musicians and members of leading European orchestras. This artistic initiative symbolizes resistance and demonstrates how music can transcend borders and inspire hope. Following the main work, the Ukrainian national anthem, in an arrangement by Yurii Shevchenko, will be performed as an encore.
Of particular note: the choral part of Schiller's "Ode to Joy" will be sung in Ukrainian.
