Any band that plays together for nearly five decades goes through a process of evolution – and it picks up some stories to tell along the way. Los Angeles-based jazz-fusion legends Yellowjackets have come a long way since their early days in the 1970s, and the summer of 1993 found them on peak form in Munich, Germany, performing as part of the genre-crossing Klaviersommer festival. A classic mid-period Yellowjackets lineup of Russell Ferrante, Bob Mintzer, Will Kennedy and Jimmy Haslip performs a celebration of the bands' own material, including numbers from their (then new) albums Greenhouse and Like a River.
