Filmed in 1996 at the Philharmonie im Gasteig, this all-star quintet finds Chick Corea paying tribute to one of bebop’s defining pianists. With Joshua Redman, Wallace Roney, Christian McBride and Roy Haynes alongside him, Corea revisits Bud Powell’s fiercely lyrical writing — from "Un Poco Loco" and "Tempus Fugit" to "Bouncin’ with Bud" — while opening the music up to fresh improvisational turns. Corea’s own "Affinity" sits naturally among the Powell pieces, linking past and present.
