Recorded at the Munich Klaviersommer in 1997, Daniel Kramer takes the stage alone and lets the piano do the talking. His solo set moves easily between standards, blues inflection and his own originals, from Gershwin’s "Nice Work If You Can Get It" to a medley of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" and "Whispering", and a boogie-woogie fantasy around "St. Louis Blues". Kramer’s own pieces – including "Associations", "Tango" and "Mozart Mood" – show a pianist who relishes stylistic shifts and the freedom of improvisation.
