Joe Henderson Quartet in the Philharmonie im Gasteig

Joe Henderson is joined by Bheki Mseleku, George Mraz and Al Foster in this quartet set recorded at the Philharmonie im Gasteig in Munich in 1994 during the Munich Klaviersommer. The programme brings together well-known standards such as Stella by Starlight and Take the “A” Train with pieces associated with Henderson, including Recorda-Me. With saxophone, piano, bass and drums, the music moves between familiar material and Henderson’s own writing, shaped by the interaction of four established musicians.
