With his ninth studio album, 'In A Landscape', Max Richter marks a significant milestone in his artistic development. Released on September 6, 2024, by Decca Records, the album was the first to be recorded in his new, nature-inspired studio in Oxfordshire.[1][4] Here, Richter blends electronic sounds with acoustic instruments, everyday noises, and field recordings to create an innovative soundscape.[5] The composer explores contrasts and seeks their reconciliation—for example, between electronics and acoustics, humanity and nature, life's big questions and the quiet joys of existence.[2][4] The album is conceived as a fleeting self-portrait of a musician in constant motion and serves as a snapshot of his artistic and personal journey.[4] In September, Richter also embarks on a four-month world tour, which will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of 'The Blue Notebooks'.
