Duration63 Min

To mark the 85th birthday of the renowned Armenian composer Tigran Mansurian, born in Beirut on January 27, 1939, this album presents his striking Double Concerto from 1978. The collection also includes further reinterpretations: a poetic Romance performed by Moldovan violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, and the expressive work Quasi parlando, interpreted by German cellist Anja Lechner – both world premieres. The program is rounded out by Mansurian's second concerto from 2006, entitled "Four Serious Songs," with Kopatchinskaja as soloist. Both the soloists and the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, under the direction of Candida Thompson, deliver a captivating performance.
