Celebrating the 150th birthday of composer Ravel on March 7th, Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho releases the second installment of his Ravel project, featuring the two piano concertos. The album showcases the renowned Concerto for the Left Hand, recognized for its somber tones, and the cheerful G major Concerto, skillfully blending jazz elements with classical styles reminiscent of Mozart and Saint-Saëns. Cho highlights the mesmerizing second movement [Adagio assai] of the G major concerto, with its poignant piano solo. Accompanied by the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andris Nelsons, Cho presents a rendition available digitally, on CD, and soon on vinyl.
