Sergei Rachmaninoff. Together
On October 11, 2019, Daniil Trifonov released his second album of piano concertos by the renowned Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. Together with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Trifonov recorded both the technically demanding Third Piano Concerto and the energetic First Piano Concerto. The recording also includes Trifonov's own piano arrangement of the first movement from Rachmaninoff's Symphony "The Bells," as well as an interpretation of the famous "Vocalise." These two concertos form the centerpiece of "Destination Rachmaninoff – Arrival," released on CD, double LP, and digitally. This album not only pays tribute to Rachmaninoff's legendary recordings with the Philadelphia Orchestra eighty years ago but also underscores Trifonov's remarkable talent, which has already been recognized with a Grammy Award and an ECHO Klassik Award.
