Howard Shore: The Lord of the Rings and more – featuring Miloš
Live from Paris
110 Min
Ludwig Wicki conducts the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the choruses of Radio France in a thrilling showcase of the music of one of the biggest names in film music, Howard Shore. The concert includes extracts from his scores for "The Fly" (1986) and "Naked Lunch" (1991) as well as from the first film in Peter Jackson's epic adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The rest of the programme demonstrates Shore's skill in writing for the concert hall, with two works heard for the first time in France: the Fanfare for Organ and Brass and, with star guitarist Miloš as soloist, The Forest, his concerto for guitar and orchestra.
