Carmen
With her debut album on Deutsche Grammophon, Ksenija Sidorova offers a fresh interpretation of the title character from Bizet's opera "Carmen." The Latvian accordionist sees Carmen as the embodiment of deepest desires, which is reflected in an extraordinary range of rhythms and timbres. The album draws inspiration from musical influences in Latin America, Asia, Europe, and North America. Sidorova thus opens up a fascinating and multifaceted musical approach to the famous operatic figure.
