For the second time in its history, the Vatican has opened the doors of the Sistine Chapel for a studio recording. With the album 'Palestrina,' the Sistine Chapel Choir continues its collaboration with Deutsche Grammophon. Under the direction of Massimo Palombella, the world's oldest choir performs exclusively works by the Italian reformer of church music. Meticulous research in the Vatican Library resulted in world premiere recordings of rediscovered pieces as well as first performances of new critical editions.
