Yannick Nézet-Séguin Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who has served as Music Director of the Metropolitan Opera in New York since the 2018-19 season, is considered one of the most important conductors of our time.

In collaboration with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, of which he has been an honorary member since 2016-17, he has made a remarkable recording of all of Mendelssohn's symphonies for Deutsche Grammophon. These recordings, made in 2016 in the acoustically superb Philharmonie de Paris, were enthusiastically received by critics. The triple album, released to mark the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's Reformation, includes a special rarity: the first version of the 'Reformation Symphony'. The recordings are characterized by sparkling vitality and a profound understanding of Mendelssohn's compositional style. His music uniquely combines compositional transparency with ethical depth and artistic mystery. The meticulous preparation of the symphonic works, performed together with excellent soloists, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and the RIAS Chamber Choir, underscores the exceptional quality of this comprehensive release.
