Album insights
Albrecht Mayer has once again demonstrated a keen sense for unique album programming with his release "Mozart." The album received critical acclaim, with Rondo praising it as "superbly crafted" and Crescendo noting that Mayer's interpretation reveals a profound understanding of Mozart's music. This success propelled the album to the seventh spot on the German pop charts and topped the classical charts for two consecutive months. Building on this triumph, Albrecht Mayer now introduces an Extended Edition of the album in a 2 CD Digipack format, collaborating with pianist Fabian Müller. This edition features five new pieces arranged for oboe and piano, including iconic arias from Mozart's "The Magic Flute" and "Abduction from the Seraglio." Moreover, it includes the "Gran Adagio" transcribed for oboe, violin, cello, and orchestra, based on Mozart’s Gran Partita KV 361. By combining this bonus content with the original Mozart album, Mayer presents a cohesive Deluxe Edition, expanding the musical world of Mozart. As Mayer states, "My time for and with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has arrived."
