Swiss Verbier
The Verbier Festival, held every summer in Verbier, Switzerland since 1994, brings together internationally renowned artists and emerging talents of classical music. The festival's focus is particularly on chamber music, emphasizing encounters and collaborative music-making. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was held digitally. In conjunction with this, Deutsche Grammophon released four remarkable live recordings from previous years as digital albums. Among the selected recordings is César Franck's extraordinary Piano Quintet, presented in a stunning live performance from the Verbier Festival – featuring Marc-André Hamelin on piano and Joshua Bell on first violin.
The Verbier Festival's selection includes a powerful live interpretation of César Franck's Piano Quintet.
