Victor Desarzens

The Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1942 by Victor Desarzens, has always included Mozart in its repertoire. The ensemble's impressive collection of recordings encompasses all of the composer's piano concertos and serenades. With Renaud Capuçon assuming the artistic directorship in the 2021/22 season, the interpretation of the violin concertos now reflects the deep connection between the conductor and the orchestra. For Capuçon, this musical affinity with the repertoire, the orchestral sound, and the phrasing represents a true enrichment. As both conductor and soloist, he enthusiastically explores the hidden musical subtleties of the compositions. The double CD, recorded last September at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in Lausanne, also includes the Rondo in C major, K. 373, and the Adagio in E major, K. 261. The performance was consistently vibrant and demonstrated Capuçon's understanding of the works' inherent beauty.

The performance was characterized by its vitality and demonstrated Capuçon's understanding of the works' immediate beauty.
