Album insights

Celebrating a significant milestone, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Lambert Orkis mark their 25-year partnership as a duo with the release of The Silver Album and a grand recital tour. Commemorated in 2014 through the international launch of The Silver Album, their artistic collaboration began twenty-five years ago with a tour across the United States, setting a remarkable standard in the classical music sphere. Over the years, this partnership has birthed an impressive array of performance projects and critically acclaimed recordings for Deutsche Grammophon. Highlighting the essence of their collaboration, The Silver Album showcases 40 minutes of newly recorded music, featuring world premiere performances of Krzysztof Penderecki's La Follia for solo violin (2013) and Previn's Violin Sonata No. 2 (2012). Including Massenet's "Méditation" from Thaïs and Ravel's Pièce en forme de Habanera, this double album also boasts grand sonatas by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Fauré, alongside timeless encores like Fritz Kreisler's Liebesleid and three of Brahms' Hungarian Dances, cherished by audiences as beloved additions.
