Producer Snorri Hallgrímsson
Icelandic composer and producer Snorri Hallgrímsson, whose music is characterized by a healthy dose of Icelandic melancholy with electronic undercurrents, has announced his EP on Deutsche Grammophon. Raised in a musical family and trained as a classical guitarist and choral singer, he discovered film music in his youth. After studying at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and Berklee College of Music, he worked closely with Ólafur Arnalds, including on 'The Chopin Project' and the award-winning score for the television series 'Broadchurch'. His debut album, 'Orbit', was released in 2018 and was hailed as a 'glorious beginning'. His other works include 'Landbrot I', 'Landbrot II', and the album 'I Am Weary, Don't Let Me Rest', which won Production of the Year at the 2024 Icelandic Music Awards. In addition to chamber and choral works, his growing list of soundtracks includes 'Chasing The Present', 'Jaula/The Chalk Line', and 'Innocence'. His music can also be heard in Paolo Sorrentino's new film 'Parthenope', which premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
