A delightful journey through the day with Joseph Haydn! It was with these three magnificent early symphonies that Haydn probably celebrated his debut at the court of Prince Esterházy in 1761– with each composed so as to show off the superb players in the prince's celebrated orchestra. We begin with the with a musical "Le matin"(Morning) and progress via the high spirits of "Le midi" (Noon) through to "Le soir"(Evening), which culminates in the depiction of storm. It's whose charm and beauty remain as irresistible to us today as it was to its first audience in Esterhazy over 260 years ago – especially when performed by such renowned Haydn experts as Giovanni Antonini and Il Giardino Armonico.
