"There can be no guarantee that I will become a great jazz musician, but at least I shall know that I am doing the right thing," said the great Austrian classical pianist Friedrich Gulda, when asked about his new-found passion for jazz. At the time, his free-spirited approach ruffled feathers, but at the Munich Klaviersommer – the genre-defying festival that he founded and led – Gulda was in his element. This 1995 live set with the Paradise Trio finds him at ease among friends, five years before his untimely death: exuberantly leaping musical boundaries in the company of three true kindred spirits.
- Soloists:
- Friedrich Gulda (Piano), Barbara Dennerlein (Hammond Organ), Harry Sokal (Saxophone), Jojo Mayer (Drums)
