Recorded at the Philharmonie im Gasteig in 1992, this Munich Klaviersommer set brings clarinettist Eddie Daniels and the Gary Burton Quartet together for a high-spirited tribute to Benny Goodman and Lionel Hampton. With Burton's vibraphone and Daniels' quicksilver clarinet at the helm, the programme dives into swing-era favourites – from "Stompin' at the Savoy" and "Moonglow" to "Sing, Sing, Sing" – alongside Goodman's playful take on Weber's Invitation to the Dance. Joined by Makoto Ozone, Marc Johnson and Martin Richards, the group shapes an energetic, good-humoured celebration of jazz at its most infectious.
- Soloists:
- Gary Burton (Vibraphone), Makoto Ozone (Piano), Marc Johnson (Double Bass), Martin Richards (Drums), Eddie Daniels (Clarinet)
