Yellow Lounge: Albrecht Mayer & the Bamberg Symphony

The goal: reaching new audiences. If the young people won’t come to the concert hall, then the concert hall will come to them. The result: the works of Elgar, Strauss, Ravel and Brahms, this time with visual accompaniments, gain new fans with this concert held within the confines of a supermarket. Much like Berlin itself, the contrapuntal components surrounding this Yellow Lounge concert are glaringly obvious, yet perfectly synchronised. Performing a programme of post-war concertos from their Longing for Paradise album, Albrecht Mayer and Jakub Hrůša, together with the Bamberg Symphony, thrill an unconventional crowd in the very centre of a city once torn apart by war.
