An Evening with Senesino – Max Emanuel Cencic & Les Talens Lyriques

Countertenor Max Emanuel Cencic joins period-instrument experts Les Talens Lyriques and Christophe Rousset at the jewel-like Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth. In a varied programme, Cencic presents arias by Handel and Porpora written for legendary castrato Francesco Bernardi (known as Senesino). Simultaneously, Les Talens Lyriques are demonstrating Hamburg's Oper am Gänsemarkt as a crucible of invention and innovation under the directorship of composer Reinhard Keiser and the site of early Handel premieres and Telemann’s greatest successes.
