Seong-Jin Cho To mark the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel's birth, Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho presents a new album featuring the composer's two piano concertos. The album focuses particularly on the demanding Concerto for the Left Hand and the energetic G major Concerto, which blends elements of jazz with classical music. Cho especially highlights the second movement of the G major Concerto, which captivates with its compelling piano solo.
The recordings were made with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andris Nelsons. The album is available digitally and on CD; a vinyl edition will follow shortly.
