Gustavo "Cuchi" Leguizamón, born in Salta in 1917 and died there in 2000, was a prominent Argentine musician. Like Pablo Márquez, who also hailed from Salta, Leguizamón was active as a poet, composer, pianist, and guitarist. He blended traditional Argentine folklore with a modern harmonic diversity, which he developed through the influences of composers such as Debussy, Ravel, and Schoenberg. On this album, Márquez explores Cuchi's music by interpreting it in all 24 major and minor keys. Márquez emphasizes using each key only once, both to draw on his classical training and to breathe new life into the folk music.
