Christoph Israel In the midst of the early COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020, Daniel Hope transformed his living room into a television studio. He launched 'Hope at Home,' a daily livestream on ARTE TV, to present high-quality classical performances.
The concert series featured works by composers such as Schubert, Max Richter, Rachmaninoff, Mancini, and Weill. Numerous renowned guests accepted Hope's invitation, including soul singer Joy Denalane, rapper Max Herre, trumpeter Till Brönner, and Max Raabe. Pianist Christoph Israel accompanied Hope during this extraordinary time, sometimes creating arrangements just minutes before the live broadcasts. Hope describes the album as a document of those special weeks—everything was recorded live, without post-production or second takes, giving the collection an authentic feel.
