Mari Samuelsen
Norwegian violinist Mari Samuelsen's latest work, 'LIFE', artistically explores the experience of becoming a mother. The Deutsche Grammophon-signed virtuoso has composed an album that reflects the transformative journey of parenthood. Recorded during her second pregnancy, the work unites a wide range of emotions—from curiosity and frustration to deep affection and joy. Known for her passionate interpretations, the violinist presents a carefully curated collection of works by contemporary composers such as Hania Rani, Max Richter, Nils Frahm, Ludovico Einaudi, Steve Reich, Bryce Dessner, and Jóhann Jóhansson. Each piece functions as a chapter in a larger narrative, evoking childhood memories and resonating with the emotions of new parents as they watch their children discover the world.
