Few artists would undertake such an ambitious project as Kit Armstrong's survey of keyboard music across the centuries – a pianistic tour-de-force and a compelling demonstration of Armstrong's intellect and musicological curiosity. In this concert he covers music from 1820 to 1920, a time of remarkable development and upheaval, as demonstrated in music ranging from Chopin's haunting nocturnes via works by Debussy and Liszt to Schoenberg's Six Little Piano Pieces, Op. 19 and Leo Ornstein's modernist Suicide in an Airplane of 1913.
