Some critics called Friedrich Gulda a "musical terrorist". But he was one of the supreme modern interpreters of Mozart, the composer he regarded as the "greatest of the greatest", and he launches this 1989 concert from Salzburg with an inimitable account of the Piano Sonata K. 333. And then…well, all bets are off as Gulda joins two fellow geniuses from very different worlds – Austrian jazz pianist Joe Zawinul and the legendary Herbie Hancock – for a computer-enhanced improvisation that pushes the boundaries of 1980s music technology, as well as the collective imagination of three true keyboard originals.
