Elīna Garanča and Michael Fabiano in Cavalleria rusticana
Cap Rocat Festival
A superb line-up of soloists presents a concert performance of Mascagni's one-act Cavalleria rusticana, live from the Cap Rocat Festival in Majorca. The composer's hot-blooded tale of infidelity and vengeance – a foundational work of the Verismo school – is conducted by Henrik Nánási and stars Elīna Garanča as Santuzza, the woman wronged and ostracized by her community. American tenor Michael Fabiano sings her treacherous lover Turiddu and Italian baritone Luca Salsi is Alfio, the no-nonsense carter who is left to restore justice.
