Rising Stars: Theodore Platt, Baritone

The British-Russian baritone Theodore Platt joins the Rising Stars series on STAGE+ with a recital showcasing his wide-ranging talent. He is joined by pianist Keval Shah for a programme featuring songs in no fewer than five languages and culminating in an extract from one of the great baritone roles in English opera: the eponymous innocent you sailor in Benjamin Britten's Billy Budd. The performances, as ever, are interspersed with interviews, which offer an insight into what inspires and moves this fast-rising singer – the perfect complement his compelling performances.
