For decades, Gidon Kremer has been regarded as one of the most interesting and courageous artists of our time. Leading his chamber orchestra, Kremerata Baltica, the violin virtuoso regularly presents both classics and lesser-known pieces by contemporary composers, catering to a broader audience. Celebrating his 70th birthday in 2017 along with 20 years of Kremerata Baltica, the Latvian violinist has teamed up with two exceptional artists: Lithuanian cellist Giedre Dirvanauskaitė and Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov. This trio showcases moving masterpieces of Russian Romanticism, focusing on trios by Rachmaninoff and a joint composition by Fritz Kreisler and Rachmaninoff called "Preghiera." The trio's stellar performance has created a deeply moving piece of musical history that we will cherish for a long time.
