Emile Naoumoff: Piano Recital

Recorded live at the Philharmonie im Gasteig in Munich in 1996, this recital sees Emile Naoumoff exploring a network of personal connections and musical lineage. Alongside his own works, Valse pour Nadia and Las Brisas, he performs Nadia Boulanger’s Thème et variations and Vers la vie nouvelle, reflecting his close association with the legendary pedagogue. Bach’s Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor appears in Naoumoff’s own transcription, while Glenn Gould’s unfinished Piano Sonata offers a rare glimpse into the Canadian pianist’s compositional voice.
