Philippe Jordan is on the podium as a dream cast comes together for Kirill Serebrennikov's new production of Wagner's Parsifal, unveiled in April 2021 at the Wiener Staatsoper. Ludovic Tézier (Amfortas), Georg Zeppenfeld (Gurnemanz) und Wolfgang Koch (Klingsor) all bring their roles to this theatre for the first time. They are joined by Jonas Kaufmann as Wagner's "pure fool", while former Wiener Staatsoper ensemble member Elīna Garanča sings Kundry's – one of the most fascinating and dramatically challenging roles in the whole Wagner repertory – for the first time.
