Dream Team: Martha Argerich & Daniel Barenboim

Since the 1990s, Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim, fellow Argentinians who have known each other since childhood, have formed a four-handed music-making dream team. One German critic has described the special appeal of "such different yet familiar artistic temperaments" coming together, and the duo demonstrate their stylistic flexibility as a team in this concert at the Berlin Philharmonie. The brightness of Mozart's D Major Sonata for two pianos meets the dreamy despair of the variations by Schubert and the rhythmic elemental intensity of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
