About Lucien Hillemacher
Lucien Joseph Édouard Hillemacher, born on June 10, 1860, and passed away on June 2, 1909, in Paris, is a celebrated figure in the world of fine arts. He received his education at the Conservatoire de Paris, studying under the guidance of Émile Durand and Jules Massenet. Hillemacher's accolades include Premier Prix (harmony & accompaniment, 1878), Second Prix de Rome (1879), and Premier Grand Prix de Rome (1880, with cantata Fingal). Some of his notable works include 'Messe solennelle', the orchestral suite 'La Cinquantaine', and collaborations with Paul Hillemacher under the name P.L. Hillemacher. In 1903, Hillemacher was knighted in the Légion d’honneur.
