For nearly five decades, from 1907 to 1956, he served as organist at the Gustaf Vasa Church in Stockholm, becoming a central figure in Swedish liturgical and concert music. Olsson was recognized as an expert on organ design and church music, participating in national committees and contributing to major hymnbooks.
