Album insights

In 2012, Charles Dutoit conducted the young musicians of the Verbier Festival Orchestra in a performance of Claude Debussy's opera "Pelléas et Mélisande" to commemorate Debussy's 150th birthday. Considered one of the most beautiful operatic scores in the lyrical repertoire, the opera featured soloists Stéphane Degout as Pelléas, Magdalena Kožená as Mélisande, and José Van Dam as Golaud. Together, they delivered a remarkable performance noted for its exceptional artistry, cohesion, and emotional depth that will be remembered for a long time.
