Album insights
Contemporary film composer Howard Shore has released a new album, showcasing the perfect fusion of three concerts he performed in Paris during spring 2023. Two of the concerts featured the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, conducted by Ludwig Wicki and Bastien Stil. The third concert highlights Shore's experimental compositions, revealing his chameleon-like ability to transition between diverse genres. Accompanying the orchestras are a group of inspiring soloists, including Olivier Doise, Jean-Paul Gasparian, Raphaëlle Moreau, Stéphane Guillaume, and Lydia Kavina. Shore, renowned worldwide for his work on the 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' trilogies, is considered one of the most innovative contemporary film composers, with over 40 years of proven talent. According to Shore, film music is an exceptional realm where composers can freely create, provided they align with films and themes that resonate with their own personalities. Building a trusting relationship with the director allows for personal expression, fostering uniqueness and ambition. Collaboration, perspective, and conviction are the essential elements, as stated by Shore.
