Heiligenkreuz Abbey
In 2007, the monks of Heiligenkreuz Abbey achieved an unexpected breakthrough with their album "Chant – Music for Paradise," which sold millions of copies and received multiple platinum awards. Deutsche Grammophon was able to engage the Cistercian monks once again for a unique project: "Chant for Peace"—a historic collaborative work that radiates peace through the power of music and captivates listeners with its authenticity. This impressive collaboration unites the monks' Gregorian chant with Old Testament texts interpreted by the renowned Jewish artist Timna Brauer. Together with the Elias Meiri Ensemble, they create a harmonious connection between Christian and Jewish faiths, thus setting a powerful example against violence and in favor of religious tolerance.
