Joachim Roedelius Joachim Roedelius, a pioneer of Cosmic Music and Krautrock, became particularly well-known through his work with the groups Cluster and Harmonia. His discography includes over one hundred works, among them numerous solo and collaborative projects with artists such as Dieter Moebius, Brian Eno, and younger musicians like Tim Story. Arnold Kasar, almost three decades younger and from the Berlin crossover scene of the 1990s, successfully combined electronic club music with jazz and was part of bands such as Micatone, Nylon, and Friedrich Lichtenstein.

During their joint studio sessions in Baden near Vienna, Roedelius decided early on to use the piano as the central instrument. Kasar suggested dampening the piano with felt, which created the album's characteristic, fragile sound. He appreciates Roedelius's intuitive playing, which requires no classical training or rigid structures. The collaboration between the two evokes a deep creative resonance in Kasar, one he finds difficult to put into words.
