Philip Glass.
The renowned piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque dedicate their latest album to the composer Philip Glass. With a career spanning more than fifty years, the sisters complete Glass's operative triptych, composed between 1993 and 1996 and based on films by Jean Cocteau. Following their acclaimed 2020 recording of 'Les Enfants Terribles', they now present the two remaining works, 'Orphée' and 'La Belle et la Bête'. All pieces have been specially arranged for the duo by Glass's music director, Michael Riesman. The Labèque sisters' interpretations are presented in a unique staging designed by Nina Chalot and Cyril Teste and accompanied by a new fragrance by Francis Kurkdjian. A special artistic connection between the French pianists and the American composer is evident in this impressive homage to Glass's Cocteau trilogy.
