The Mivos Quartet collaborated closely with composer Steve Reich in reinterpreting and recording his three string quartets – Different Trains, Triple Quartet, and WTC 9/11. Celebrated by the Chicago Reader as one of America's boldest New Music ensembles, the quartet presents this trilogy for the first time on an album released by Deutsche Grammophon. Inspired by language, Bartók's echoes, and the aftermath of a day marked by terror, the Mivos players crafted their interpretations. Reich actively supported the project, guiding on musical nuances, style, and praised the final album, available in digital, CD, and vinyl formats.
