Viktor's Piano Playing
Icelandic composer, conductor, and producer Viktor Orri Árnason, together with soprano and visual artist Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir, conceived and wrote the debut album "Poems" for Deutsche Grammophon. In the ten tracks, the two artists draw on their shared cultural heritage, setting poems by Icelandic authors from various eras to music, including texts by Árnason and Guðmundsdóttir themselves. Álfheiður's delicate, ethereal vocals are accompanied by Viktor's piano playing; he also occasionally plays violin and viola. Some compositions are further enriched with strings from the Reykjavík Orchestra and subtle electronic sounds.
