Ina Boyle
Today sees the release of violinist Daniel Hope's new album, "Irish Roots." Inspired by his great-grandfather's Irish heritage, who emigrated from Ireland to South Africa in the 1890s, the album reflects Hope's deep connection to Ireland. His enduring fascination with Irish culture and his musical roots has led him to an intensive exploration of the connection between folklore and classical music. Hope invites his listeners on a musical journey rich in familiar melodies, creative interpretations, and surprising discoveries. Alongside traditional works such as "Danny Boy" and Vivaldi's "L'estro armonico" concertos, the album also features compositions by Ina Boyle and harpist Turlough O'Carolan. Hope is supported by renowned guest artists such as Lúsiana, harpist Siobhán Armstrong, flautists Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway, singer Rea Garvey, multi-instrumentalist and folk musician Ross Daly, violinist Simos Papanas, and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Geiss.
