As a storm rages through the forest a desperate man finds shelter, unaware that their forbidden love will have consequences on a cosmic scale. A brother finds a sister, a father betrays his son and a goddess discovers her own humanity: the second part of Wagner's Ring cycle is the heart of the whole colossal drama, and this 2024 concert staging from Rotterdam starred some of the finest new Wagnerian voices of the 21st century, including Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Siegmund and Tamara Wilson as Brünnhilde. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts a performance that one critic described as "heartrending".
